Deluxe Shield was founded by an installer with over seven years of hands-on experience protecting marine vessels in some of the most demanding conditions on the water. We exist for one reason: to preserve the integrity of yachts and boats that were never meant to be ordinary.

What's the difference between PPF and ceramic coating?

Paint Protection Film (Yacht Armor) is a clear urethane film bonded to the surface — a physical, sacrificial layer that absorbs impact, dock rash, and abrasion. Self-healing minor scratches with heat. Removable. Ceramic Coating (Feynlab) is a chemical nano-coating that bonds to the gel coat — providing UV scattering, chemical resistance, and an ultra-hydrophobic surface. Not a physical barrier; works at the molecular level. They protect against different things. Combined, they cover both.

What does "self-healing" actually mean?

Yacht Armor's urethane film carries memory in its molecular structure. When the film picks up minor surface scratches, swirl marks, or dock rash, the bonds re-form when warmed — either by direct sunlight on a hot day or by a heat gun in minutes. Deeper cuts that penetrate the film thickness don't self-heal, but the film below them protects the gel coat regardless. This is something no wax, sealant, or ceramic coating can do — it is a property unique to high-grade PPF.

Can PPF and ceramic coatings be combined on the same vessel?

Yes — and for owners who want the most complete protection, this is the recommended approach. Yacht Armor PPF is installed first on high-impact and high-wear surfaces. Feynlab ceramic is then applied over the entire vessel, including the film. Film handles physical damage; ceramic handles UV, chemical, and hydrophobic performance.

How long does the protection last?

Yacht Armor PPF is backed by a 3-year manufacturer warranty against yellowing, delamination, and cracking. Feynlab HYDRO Marine Ceramic protects for 3+ years with proper aftercare. Both extend well beyond the lifespan of waxes and sealants (3–6 months) or consumer-grade products.

Where is the installation performed?

Most installations are performed at the marina, boatyard, or your property where the vessel is stored. Large projects and full ceramic applications are often staged at a partner facility with a controlled, dust-managed environment to ensure flawless results.

What does it cost?

Every project is custom-quoted based on vessel size, surface area, complexity, and finish. Smaller projects (screen protectors, single cowling, partial coatings) start at a few hundred dollars. Full-vessel PPF or ceramic projects range from $1,500 to $15,000+ depending on length and scope. Combined PPF + Ceramic packages are quoted as a single integrated project.

Do you offer aftercare and maintenance plans?

Yes. Feynlab-coated vessels are maintained with FEYNLAB Marine Wash and Hybrid Ceramic Detailer to maximize the 3+ year lifespan. We also offer annual inspection and maintenance plans that include surface assessment, minor PPF repairs, and ceramic refresh applications. Plans start at $250 per year.
